Our client who lives in Birmingham, contacted us after repeated reports to landlord for over 3 years where being ignored.
Our client had been reporting disrepairs issues within their rental property since 2018. The main issues within our clients home was:
- Damp & Mould
Our client who lives alone in the property which is a two bedroom flat. Our client was unhappy with the conditions, more so with the landlord in question. The quality of life felt as though it was reduced as our client was unable to feel happy within the rental property, with no help of repairs set out. Although mould and damp can cause health implications, in this instance this was not something we needed to address.
After negotiations with the landlord on our clients behalf, in a matter of 3 weeks once a surveyors report was completed, a counter offer from the defendant was accepted by the client of £1,000; with the promise to bring the property up to the correct living standards.
We where able to conclude this case within a 4 month period; a thankful outcome for our client after the 3 year long wait previously.
